Each year, workplaces around Australia who value employee wellbeing and giving back to the community take part in Coastrek, hiking for mental health and proudly supporting Beyond Blue.
Coastrek and Beyond Blue have a shared vision to help all Australians achieve their best possible mental health. Through our 12-week training program and national series of team hiking events, Coastrek can play a vital role in managing anxiety and depression and improve mental, physical, and social wellbeing, while raising funds for the Beyond Blue 24/7 Support Service.

Coastrek is a great way to supercharge existing wellbeing initiatives by encouraging inclusion and connection while creating long-term, sustainable positive habits to boost resilience and energy at work and home.

As the name suggests, we are coastal! Our events are held on some of Australia’s most spectacular coastlines with nature taking centre stage. This means less pounding on pavement and more natural bushland and iconic hiking trails.

We celebrate the journey, not just a race to the finish line. This non-competitive environment creates a welcoming atmosphere for novice hikers, while those driven by healthy competition still have the opportunity to set their pace!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Sign Up Your Organisation for a Coastrek Hiking Challenge:
Teams have a choice of 20km, 30km, 35km or 50km distances* to take part in on event day, fully supported with a 12-week training program that keeps teams motivated and connected with regular exercise in nature.
Team numbers are flexible* allowing for various team structures within the workplace to form teams either within their department OR break down some silos and mix it up!

Volunteer, Support Crews and Fundraising:
Team members who don’t wish to take part as a trekker can still get involved as event day volunteers; as support crews for colleagues taking part in the trek; and by organising fundraising activities and initiatives – all vital roles that help us make Coastrek a fun and inclusive experience for everyone.
WORKPLACE FUNDRAISING AND GIVING
Your Organisation's invovlement in Coastrek goes a long way. Coastrek is both a fitness and fundraising challenge proudly supporting Beyond Blue with funds raised going towards the Beyond Blue 24/7 Support Service, to help ensure everyone in Australia can access the mental health support they need, when they need it.
Your involvement as an employer and organisation could include matched giving or supporting your employee's fundraising efforts during their Coastrek journey.
